I™™m so terribly disappointed with this oven. We recently moved and I upgraded our builder grade GE oven to this model approximately two years ago. We had a tech come out within the warranty period to address uneven baking (cookies burned/uncooked in spite of appropriate tray placement on the racks and rotation). I began to assume it was possibly an issue with climate or change in altitude since nothing was coming out correctly after the initial tech visit either. I reached my breaking point when I baked a ™tried and true™ cake recipe that was raw in the middle after baking. A tech came out again (now after the warranty period), updated software, calibrated and told me nothing was wrong with my oven. I was given advice to use the ™bake time™ feature to ™help the oven maintain temp while baking™. Repeat the story with the same raw in the middle cake and add in an uncooked frozen pizza. The manual over thermometer o had purchased read 320 when it was set at 425. I understand the tech was just reading his equipment, but there is clearly as issue holding temp with this unit.

I have had several things wrong with this oven . I™™ll attach videos. First of all the smell is horrible . Gives me a headache and makes me dizzy . To me it smells like burning wires and chemicals . I smell it even when oven isn™™t being used . I bought this in February and they had to come out and repair a few weeks ago . When I would turn the oven on , the panel would show it was up to temp in a short time but I noticed it was not as hot as it was suppose to be . When I would set for 400+ the oven light would turn on and start flickering like crazy. It never heated correctly. They changed the panel . Fast forward two weeks later , I was finally going to make sourdough. I set the oven at 475 , smell was horrible and it was making all these weird clanking sounds and then the lights started again . I™™m scared to use this oven and I want it out of my house . Oh and the back burner was just flames up to my vent. He had to replace that also .

Absolutely My #1 regret purchase. I don't know if reviews are monitored, if this will even show because its surely not a 4 or 5 star review, but if you see this, read it and purchase at your own risk. We unfortunately had to purchase a new oven as my old (not aGE) oven had the glass shatter. We ended up with this GE oven as our new oven back in February of 2025. The design is nice but™¦ The smell is horrible. I don't understand how none of these other "reviews" have not noticed this? Since our initial purchase, its been nothing but a nightmare of chemical smells and I have yet to use the actual oven! We did all initial burn-ins and cleanings but still had toxic smells... Then 3 months of a TERRIBLE smell Still coming from the oven even when it was not in use I contacted customer service as this could not be normal timeframe for a burn-in. After weeks of back and forth, and 2 techs coming to "check it out", they exchanged it. We got a 2nd oven in June, again, this horrible smell on the outer layer of the oven. EVEN WHEN NOT IN USE!! We had the line tested, no gas leaks, so we know It is not a gas smell & not a ™burn-in™ smell. The burn-in smell still smells months later when oven is turned on but its the after smell thats the worst! The 2nd oven smell is not as strong but the smell is there and my dizziness has not subsided after it is turned off. It smells for hours after it is turned off. I run it almost daily for hours when my children are at school so they don't have to smell this toxicity! We use the stove top but the oven itself is unusable. It is a huge shame as I cant even bake or use the oven and bake certain meals.. At this point, with tons of research and deep internet searching & with two ovens with the same issue we believe its the smell of the insulation Heating/Cooling off. ™¨I am sure this cannot be safe. I had emailed customer service a month after we received our replacement & never head back. I truly regret this purchase, I wish there was a way to return it - I would in a heartbeat. It has made me extremely dizzy, sick, and I am upset I cant even cook proper meals inside the oven. I refuse to put food inside of it when it smells. I can only make stove top meals and need to use a smaller toaster oven for anything else. It is just a horrible experience. It truly is a shame as we own many GE products and never had issues with any of them except this oven.

We had this stove installed by 2 awesome delivery guys. We bought at Lowe's in Meridian ID. The controls are so easy to use. The oven is huge great for baking a lot of great stuff. Love the griddle that comes with the stove. Buttons lock which is great. Easy to clean also.

I hope to use many of the Stove's features soon. The only quibble I have is the control panel. Literally the hottest oven ever - the top gets super hot right in front on top where the controls are- it™™s the worst. I bought this to replace an older model thinking it would help keep our house cooler if we upgraded. Absolutely wrong. It™™s also short and the back legs won™™t adjust to make it taller - the front ones do but the back won™™t. Also the way the back is configured it leaves a huge gap between the wall and the stove because the gas line doesn™™t fit. Save your money - purchase another brand.

Overall performance is very good so far, and I would purchase it again. We had specific requirements that we could not completely meet. However this fulfilled most: 1) Slide-in (all controls on the front) 2) 5 or 6 burners for a continuous cooking surface (this one has 5 and the center burner is long) 3) Gas oven 4) Limited electrical components and functions(no WIFI or other SMART functionality) 5) Burners could be lit manual for stove top cooking in power outages. 6) Cost effective (price was A little over $750 during a sale) 7) Had an exact or similar looking 24" model available Areas not fulfilled: -Gas broiler. We were willing to compromise on thsi for this stove and the 24" GE stove we also purchased. AS mentioned we purchased similar looking 24" wide GE stove (JGAS640RMSS) in order to create a 54" of cooking surface and two ovens (at less than 1/3 the price of a Viking or Thermador range of equivalent combined size). Recommend getting the center grate (JXGRATE2) for this range in order to swap out the griddle if you want to use the center burner more more than just griddle cooking. Make make no mistake, this is a bare bones GE range. IT GE Profile series range, though it shares some of the parts. It works very well though. It also does not come with all the techno bells-and-whistles; which is specifically what we wanted : as few of those as possible. This means fewer costly electrical components to fail in the future. Plus the electrical components that could fail should be cheaper to replace. The non-electric components should retain long-time reliability and cheap replacement in the event of failure. Pros: -Lighter than our 15 year old GE range (easier to move). -Burners work great and output heat well. -Cast Iron grates and griddle are nicely built. -Griddle is pre-seasoned and cooks fantastic. -Oven heats up well and the broiler works as expected. -Stovetop and oven are easy to clean. -Broiler crisper function is pretty nice. -Can cook on burners during power outage so long as they are lit via a match or lighter. Cons: -Lighter (build quality seems less robust than out 15 year old range) -Side panels not secured very well to the main body of the range (excessive gap in my opinion). I will address with when the warrantee expires). -Alert chime for preheating, alarm, and timers is very quiet. -Oven heats a little unevenly (higher racks positions easily burn). -Leveling legs are cheap plastic (will be looking for non-plastic, higher quality alternatives or will mount on end appliance rollers).

Have used this new gas range for a few weeks now. I really like it so far. The burners provide good heat and the distance from the flame to the grate is higher than my old economy stove and I think this allows better heat control. The oven has performed well, although I am still getting used to the idea of the broiler being in-oven. There has been a plstic, off-gassing smell with oven use for a few weeks - I swear I got all the plastic out, so assume this is just new breaking smell. My favorite thing is the control panel shows in bright red when a burner is on - so valuable if you tend to simmer on very low and forget a pan. :)
