This is a nice microwave that fits the needs of someone who doesn't use microwave to cook foods, but rather heat/reheat already cooked foods. I did try cooking a potato, and the sensor overcooked it and it was dry. The ventilation fan is powerful at full max speed, but it is also very loud.

Replaced 12 year old GE Adora

It was a easy pick to replace the existing GE Adora microwave which lasted 12 years and died over a month losing its heating power. Controls, capacity and performance of the new one appear to be equivalent but the fan is a lot more noisier. The door closure also can be made a bit less loud. The installers replaced it in 20 minutes.

Terrible product - after only two years it quit working -well - other than the fan which was all that worked. It quit heating. We tried to replace sensors for the door and also the fuses and it still wouldn't work. GE offered us a coupon for a discount on a new product. I am done with GE products. Had a similar issue with a dehumidifier. Not sure where all the great review came from - or maybe they only wrote it after the first few weeks/months.

I noticed instead of 2 surface lights like my original model, there is just one. I hope the quality of this one is as good as my older one. There is a metallic sound when latching. To me this all indicates that, typical of today™™s market, the product was cheapened! Hopefully it lasts as long as our first one. Also do not like the dark cavity. My other one was white which was brighter for stirring or moving food. But, saying all of this, hopefully it is still an excellent product.

New JVM7195DKBB is a disappointing replacement for the previous GE model of the same capacity. The new model seems to be of much lower quality. The plastic is flimsy the fan is noisy and it doesn't have nearly as much cooking power as the old model.

The capacity is large, features are great- but we are still learning about it, installation was very quick - it was replacing an older over the range microwave by GE. Ventilation is a concern because the screws that release the charcoal filter are under the cabinet - meaning the microwave will need to be detached to reach those screws. When in operation, the microwave is loud as compared to the previous one.

Our GE over-the-stove microwave was 4.5 years old, and we liked it a lot. 2 days ago, it stopped heating. Everything else worked. I called service and it would cost almost as much to send out a service person and replace parts as it would to purchase a new replacement. Model JVM7195EK6ES is what I was told would replace the previous one. On the outside, it looks the same; inside is a little different. Closing the door sounds cheap. The ventilation is very noisy. It does the job, but when I turn it off, I can hear it grinding to a stop. Everything else seems to work correctly. I was just expecting the new version to be the same as the old one.

Service is horrific....they hang up (x3), offer to replace (but without paying for the service, delivery and take away, which was the problem) and they can't get anyone here for two weeks to repair it. NEVER PURCHASE from these fools.

Microwave manages selections for performance almost perfectly, except for the beverage choice because it can quickly escalate to too high a temperature for liquids which makes it necessary to keep an eye on it when using this particular feature. Otherwise, the cooking elements are working very well to provide for a delicious meal easily while the size of the oven can even make it better to use when having family or friends over. Installation done by one of the store's team members was well thought out to fit well above my stove and, when completed, he left this space clean. Ventilation works nicely because there's not much moisture adhering to the appliance when used.

This was a replacement for an almost identical GE model that was almost 10 years old. That says a lot for the quality of the old GE product. This is an over the range outside vented microwave, professionally installed. For those DIY people, the installation was a bit more complex than I expected. Installation took a little more than an hour by a person that has installed many similar models in the past. The installer fit it perfectly without shims or calking. The control panel buttons are rearrange from the old unit, but still retain the same functions. Basically everything runs the same as the old unit with the exception of the stove top light. The old unit light could be turned on and off by the clock, the new one is button controlled only. The slight negative for this unit is that it is much louder than the old one, no big deal. Given the similarity of the old and new units, the new one cost slightly more than half the cost of the old one. Given the cost savings, this was an exceptional value purchase.

I am very unhappy with the mounting system. The mounting holes both top and rear do not line up with my previous GE product. The top bolts only thread through the outer shell which is very thin and flexible causing the unit to sag under it's own weight creating an uneven gap at the top. To suggest this is all somehow normal or necessary seems ridiculous. I was very happy with my previous GE microwave. Not this one. I'll not get another.

I have used this for a week. Observation: The touch pad takes more pressure than seems normal to activate the buttons. Also, a good slam is needed to close the door so the microwave will work. I like the option to turn off the turn table so I may insert 2 dinner plates together for heating. My husband asked if I would return it because of the touch pad. No, of course, because we would have to pay installation fees again. I just need to program myself to press harder the first time.
